Q&A: What is the best Nikon D40 lens for indoor Architectural photos?
Question by : What is the best Nikon D40 lens for indoor Architectural photos?
I have a Nikon D40 that came with the kit lens and it does not do well indoors and in low light. I do not like to use a flash indoors either. Could you recommend a better lens and a light source for this application?

There are a couple that may work… the 35mm f/1.8 or so or the 50mm f/1.8. Keep in mind these lenses will be tight and not wide.

How do you set the aperture on a pentax 35mm film camera when using a Tamron lens?
Question by alicia b: How do you set the aperture on a pentax 35mm film camera when using a Tamron lens?
It’s a Pentax ZX-M and the lens is a Tamron 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6. I don’t know how to set the aperture. I’m trying to do shallow DOF and great DOF, but when I set the aperture and move the zoom, the aperture changes.
what else do you guys need to know?

I searched up the Tamron online, and since it is a manual-focus only lens, it will not even couple with the metering with your D60 camera. If the sample you seen is in the Nikon F mount, yes, it will fit, but metering is completely useless. That means that the only mode you can use the lens in is in “M”. And you’ll being a whole lot of guesswork regarding exposure since even the exposure meter is rendered useless. I know because my dad owns a few old Nikkor AI-S manual-focus only lenses, and when I tried them on my D80, the metering failed to work. I’m okay with it though, since most of the stuff I shoot with those lenses are still-life subjects.
After browsing through the search results from google, the paragraph above applies to the Sigma too.
