Lisianthus Macro

My wife brought home some Lisianthus that a friend gave to her. At the end of a session of shooting the flowers in a vase I shot a couple of macros of whatever these yellow things are called (?) which is pretty far down into the flower and this one worked out pretty well. I used a Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro lens and off camera flash with a Lumniquest Pocket Bounce Diffuser on it as close to the lens as I could get it.

Because my life wasn’t complete without a true macro lens. Shot with the Sony 100mm f/2.8 (SAL100F28)

This should be an interesting adventure.

Of course, since I just got a new macro lens, I had to do the obligatory test shot with a ballpoint pen. Compare to my previous arrangement.
I’ll have to give it another try, but while it seems a little bit tighter, I was having a hard time getting a real sharp focus.
I guess that’s what I get for buying cheap lenses.

I was looking through one of my cupboards today and stumbled upon some macro filters that I originally bought for the Sony but never used. I decided to try them out on the Canon and this is the result. They will come in handy until I get my macro lens.
